This card is a prime example of why I love to participate in challenges. I would never have thought to put these colors together and though I have trendy items in my arsenal, I don't always think to use them. Today's color challenge is Basic Black, Calypso Coral and Baja Breeze with a dessert of trendy items (triangles, arrows or burlap). I chose a couple of other trends to go with: banners, chevron and hexagons with a burlap-like ribbon. I started by embossing my black in the Chevron ef. I punched my Baja circle then embossed it in Honeycomb ef. I liked my shiny flowers from my last couple of cards so I tried a similar look. I smeared my Calypso ink pad directly onto a piece of acetate then spritzed with homemade shimmer spray (rubbing alcohol with Frost White Glimmer Paint). I laid my piece of glossy white cs onto this and gave it a quick drying with my heat gun. I repeated this a couple of times till all my ink on the acetate was used up. I then stamped 3 flowers with Stazon black and die cut the first then fussy cut the inner layers. I used glue dots to layer these after curling up the edges with my piercing tool. For my leaves, I inked up the solid leaf image with Stazon black then used the Canvas bg stamp to stamp off some of the ink. I then stamped this onto glossy white. I saw this neat little leaf image on the Canvas stamp so I laid the glossy white onto this and picked up the leftover ink for the black on white. In order to die cut this one I held it up to the light to tape the die in place because the image was reversed. My last addition is the sentiment banner which I inked with markers and die cut. I curled it with my piercing tool as well and adhered it with glue dots as well.
Blogged some pictures of the process here.

Gail, this truly is a fantastic mix of hard and soft! Your embossing is so cool with the hexagons and the chevrons!!! Then your flower is so lovely! The soft coloring with the delicate petals that you curled (just a bit) contrast perfectly! The leaves look amazing with the light and dark too! And, your burlap tie is awesome! Seriously, this is so creative!!!
