I have a card here I did for our Twisted Sistah's Challenge:
This is for my son...who has a birthday this weekend...I'm not sure I like the colour choice,
I got my burlap from my DD in our Anniversary parcel, and was so excited so wanted to layer some on the card, so tried to dye it blue....and it didn't turn out like I planned...but one can see a splotch of blue....
I used a few different coloured blues, cause so hard to match, so if one keeps them in the family they go well together:
Recipe:
Stamp Sets: ODBD The Mighty Sea, Bird in the 1:50 bin at Michaels
Paper: WW, NQN, both SU, DSP from stash,
Ink: Little copic on small birds to make stand out, Memento London Fog, NQN for sponging, and Large Bird,
Accessories: Burlap, Button, bakers Twine, EF swirls, Glue Gun, Liquid Glue, Foam Tape, & Love:

Love the grey and blues with the burlap, Jan - the subdued color for your sea scene goes great behind the stand out blues of your bird (looks just like a seagull too) The rough torn look, sponged with ink gives it a very masculine look - great job!!

Very neat ma--ma....a peaceful picture for my dear brother...and in blues....the burlap didnt work out too bad. Like you say give it a blue hue.....He will like it for sure. Jordie helped me and we finally figured out what to do...tried to re-make it and now will have to try again...didnt quite work the first time. will get it tho..lol...TFs...great way to use it for the challenge...TFS
