I had the privilege to guest design for Faber-Castell, I thought I would mainly be showing off their watercolor pencils and big pens (markers) but when I viewed videos on the company site I was inspired to buy some gelatos and I like the ease of blending and fantastic results. If youÂ’d like see other results of art supplies used along with Perfect Paper Crafting tools click here to my direct blog hop post and see what they have to offer. Wonderful products from both companies!
I used Faber-Castell StamperÂ’s Big Brush Pen for stamping the iris image and their Watercolor Pencils for coloring the iris image and background using a near dry to medium wet brush (the brush used comes in the pencil sets) on watercolor paper.
For the background panel I used a rough surface, heavyweight watercolor paper from Canson. The paisley image was heat embossed with white embossing powder. Faber-CastellÂ’s metallic Gelatos was applied using the blueberry and grape as my main colors and just a touch of melon and mint. For blending the colors together I used a wet wipe.
For the insert and envelope all but a ¾” space at the bottom was masked off and heat embossing before applying the gelatos as described above. Double lines were dry embossed just above the image using the Scor-Pal.
The Perfect Square from Perfect Paper Crafting was used for cutting out of the box image. I cut to the image on both sides then cut around the image with scissors.
The Perfect Layers tools were used to cut the borders. I used a craft knife for this card, a rotary cutter also works but not when youÂ’re working with out of the box images. When the out of the box image is in my cutting path I cut to the image on both sides and use scissors to snip the area under the image.
The image panel and borders are popped up with foam tape.
