This is for Mixability Challenge 9 - which was to use metal, then layer an appropriate paint or ink medium over it and then sand or distress. I can't use alcohol inks and had no acrylic paint, so I got creative. I figured the key idea was to get ink on top of the metal and then sand or distress, so I stamped and inked some thin brochure paper, glued it on top of a piece of CS on which I had glued a piece of tinfoil, ran it through my Big Shot using an embossing folder and then sanded the paper until I revealed the tin foil layer in spots. Sky stamp is a Cover A Card stamp, sun is from Magenta and the word "shine" is from a Unity set. And, of course, some metal brads.
Clearly, it's time to expand the supplies! But I was surprised and pretty pleased that my workaround actually worked! What a fun challenge!
TFL!

Rachel you rocked this challenge! I love the title..and your embossing work around turned out fab! I really like how the tin foil shows through on the embossed areas. Your composition is wonderful with the dark clouds on top and then the sun coming in (Magenta stamps are cool)...the shiny brads make the perfect accents!

Hey, now that is creative! Love that you made your awesome card with the supplies you had available! Your background turned out SUPER cool and your sun is so quirky and fun! The word "shine" can be so encouraging too!

Super card! You pulled all the elements together perfectly with the sentiment. And that could stamp is WAY cool, as is your embossed background. TFS!
