I am having so much fun learning new techniques to play around with in the Mixability Challenges! Today's video by Dinah was so helpful and inspiring! I kind of went literal with this new die Tim Holtz Bird on a Branch that I cut out of box board. I glued it onto card stock and covered with crinkled foil. I then ran in through my Big Shot with my most "used up" plates for extra texture. Next step was the black spray paint. I then sanded a bit off before I remembered that I was supposed to be using a solvent! I pulled out my Alcohol Blending Solution and some Qtips to remove the black ink from the raised areas as well as the corners, edges and randomly where there was good pattern in the foil. I then used reinkers and alcohol inks to add some color. I rounded 2 corners then ended up cutting off the bottom and adding a scallop. I had this silver ribbon so I made a cheater's bow and stuck in a flower accent. My verse is stamped onto a leftover piece from the Newspaper & Gesso challenge. I sponged a bit of blue on the edges. I was thinking of as I worked on this card. Hope you all enjoyed Good Friday-we had a really meaningful service tonight and I just had a good day contemplating the great sacrifice of Christ.

Gail, that was so clever to use one of your scratched up plates in your Big Shot for added texture!!! Your bird and branch are wonderful and I especially like that you added color and the eye detail! Your flowers are so pretty and the hymn title makes a perfect sentiment!

Gail, this wonderful! Love the sentiment you chose to go with it, too! Coloring the bird the way you did really added a lot of interest, and the flowers knotted into the twill ribbon is a perfect touch!

Loved looking at the process on your blog, Gail! You've really achieved so much dimension and texture here! And I love the combination of the sentiment and the bird!
