I've been working all day on organizing my stamping area. I FINALLY decided that I deserved a little break to stamp a card! I used the sketch from yesterday's sketch challenge and I still had the pack of paper out from making some plaques yesterday so I found this gingham look dp to meet today's Ways to Use it Challenge. I cut 2 strips from the same paper pack for the horizontal elements. I had the oval already cut so I cut a smaller oval in Very Vanilla. I wish they'd been one size bigger as the sentiment was tough to place and I wish there was just a bit more to the oval-could have put one more mat behind I guess. I stamped in Versafine Onyx, embossed in black ep and colored with markers (Poppy Parade, Real Red, Garden Green) then sponged with Baja Breeze and Island Indigo. I added some red gel pen to my sentiment which was stamped in Real Red. I added a red gingham bow. On the inside of the card I added another gingham strip over the Vanilla and added a Tasteful Trims die cut scallop in Real Red which is also my base color.

I agree with Sue, I really like your gingham designer paper. You did a fabulous job on your coloring and the dp is a great background for the poppy image. What a nice card!

I love that gingham (tablecloth style) paper! The color combo on this is gorgeous! Great design for both challenges. And if you've finished with your organizing..want to come over and do mine??

That gussied-up gingham DP is lovely, Gail - a great setting for the beautiful poppies. This is one of my favourite colour combinations - I'm glad I found it today.

Very striking card! Love the poppies and the shade of blue you chose to go with their glowing red. That bow is just the perfect final touch. Beautiful!
