The You Can Do It challenge for week 12 was to make a pulley card following this tutorial.
It's one of the easiest fancy fold / mechanical cards I've ever done. I made two mistakes. 1st, I punched holes and put ribbon in both extensions. I covered up one with a flower. 2nd, I misjudged how much of the left piece would show so my sentiment has to be tugged at a little to see it all. It says "Youth is not a time of life... it's a state of mind." The hardest part was finding some "real" ribbon. Most of mine is paper ribbon which doesn't slide as well, or is too narrow.
The front sentiment and floral frame is computer generated. I used a dab of Glossy Accent on my pull ribbon so it wouldn't come undone. You can see this fun card open in the other photo.
The card is too long for an A2 envie, but fits perfectly in a security/bill paying envelope!
eta: Oops, I forgot to say that the oval birthday sentiment is a digi stamp from Birdscards.
