Ok so this post has very little to do with stamping since it's mostly DP - but every card has a story. My in-laws have this "thing" where they like to reuse the "train" wrapping paper and we humor them by passing it back and forth a few times until the scraps get so small there's nothing left. That's where I come in. There was one locomotive left intact on this scrap so I carefully snailed it to a piece of cs and cut around it. This particular train is now painted in red/white/blue (in real life) so I decided to go Americana and backed it up with SU Well Worn (a title so fitting how could I resist) DP. I had these clear alpha stamps handy from Recollections so I used the "B" for "Bill". It's dark and not the prettiest card I've ever made but I knew my FIL would appreciate that paper relic passed back one last useful time. Thanks for looking. Blessings!!

This is the most meaningful card I have seen in a long time! As you say the design and artistry are not what you may typically do, but the recipient gets the message. That is the true purpose of a card !!!!!!
My family once lived out of country (Laos) and my Sister in Law sent an anniversary card to my parents who were in Laos. My Mom then resent the card, as she had no access to another card. The tradition continued for years. The card becomes more precious with time.
So glad you repurposed the elements for your tradition. !!
What a great card and what a fun tradition! This is definitely a card my Dad would have appreciated. He loved to take trips on trains after he retired.
