I wish you could see this IRL - it looks like the butterfly is 3D! SO cool!
This is for MIX5 (Mask-erade Ball) and MIX7 (Splatter-ific). The un-named Inkadinkado image was stamped on white cs and the checkerboard mask taped down over it. I used colored pencils to fill in the design, using the stamped image as a "stop" when it crossed the cut-out. I colored the butterfly with colored pencils, then masked it and sponged with Distress Inks. With the butterfly mask still in place I misted lightly with water, then took out the sprayer and slung the water out of it onto the image. That created the splatter effect.
The oval diecut is mounted on a cut-to-match layer of fun foam and adhered to the deckled rectangle with Scor-Tape. The bottom layer is stamped lightly with a script background stamp; the card base was stamped using a small screen stamp.
As always, thanks for looking!

Even in the photo, this butterfly POPS off the card. The colors look florescent against the more subtle colors of the bg. I like that small screen on the bottom layer.
I've still got my thinking cap on for Mix7. Hopefully will get something done tomorrow ... uh, today since it's already 2:40 a.m. Monday morning.
