I needed a sympathy card. My DH's Aunt passed away yesterday. So here is what I came up with.
I was inspired by our new QFTD, Rita aka:scootsv's card. I added only one cloud and one balloon.
This is also for the MIX7 challenge today which was to splatter....details...
Tried some new to me techniques on this one. For my bg I did a reverse stencil technique only mine didn't go an well as the lady in the video. BUT I will be trying it again.
Then I made my own cloud, checkered edge and heart stencil. I will share the how too's at a later time......Found the video on how to make your own stencils. Much easier to follow than for me to type it out. hehe
Sponged the heart red, added the white highlight. Then a I splattered ivory paint over the scene, but covered the cloud and heart first.
Well, Rita enjoy your reign today. You have an awesome gallery.
I would have put this card in the F4A challenge to use blue with a music theme but I couldn't come up with the music part just the blue. hehe Wait???? Does it count if you are "listening" to a song while posting? Heck, I am going to add this to the F4A challenge anyway. Hope the challenge police don't come a looking! hehe
Have a great weekend all!.....TFL :0)

Love the originality of this! So many new and fresh ideas! Thanks also for a smile of the day in your wonderful, colorful descriptions!

First, my sympathy to your DH and family. You have taken one of my favorite of Rita's cards (so light and happy) and really made it your own. The balloon heart in red with the white cloud in the heart shape against your blue sky! GORGEOUS sympathy card, into my favorites (just as Rita's original card is there too!)
