I wanted to give my sister-in-law a little something for hosting Thanksgiving because my in-laws immediate family is 64 people! So that means a lot of work for whomever is hosting a holiday. I had had this 5-point star die in my stash for a long time so I dragged that out to see if I could try my hand at making a metal star. I cut out 5 of the star points, ran each one thru a SU embossing folder, then got my Tim Holtz alcohol inks out and loaded several colors onto a Blending tool and started tapping the color onto the metal. I was really surprised how the aluminum took the color so easily. Then I used a Tim Holtz fastener/stapler to attach each 5-point star to the next one. I punched a small hole in one of the "seams" on the backside of the star and ran some fine silver thread thru it for a hanger. The star is attached to a beer bread mix I picked up in a local specialty store. I was pleased to see that my sister-in-law was using this same star on her Christmas tree....
