When we were at my Granny's house last year I found this blank journal down in my Granddaddy's library, and I took it for myself - I've been wanting to start an art journal, but like so many art forms, I've put it off for fear that I would LOVE it too much... well...
This morning we had 'home church' and some lines from the hymn 'Rock of Ages' really hit me in a place in my heart that needed to express itself, and this page started forming itself in my head. I wrote the words on the right hand side: "Nothing in my hand I bring - simply to the cross I cling."
I used acrylic paints, Versafine, dye, and chalk inks and Prismacolor pencils on this page, and stamps from Our Daily Bread designs, Heartfelt Creations, Impression Obsession, and smARTworks. The stenciled areas were done with a diecut from Impression Obsession that I had sitting on my desk.
I'm certain this will become a new addiction... this was soooooooo much fun.

Stunning Dina.... like you, I have put this off for fear of loving it too much - yet when I see creations such as yours I feel the urge. :) That is a beautiful line from the hymn...I can see why it moved you. <3

Can you see me clapping my hands together for you? Ever since you mentioned your Granddaddys journal I wondered what it might look like. I'm sure we are going to be seeing more of it too now that you have bought it out into the light. Thank you so much for sharing the start of this journey with the mask-erade challenge.
