This was my 2011 Valentine Card. This is a gate-fold card with interlocking frames so there will be two posts so you can see how the card opens. The dog image is a dollar bin special from Michael's Crafts. I colored the dog with Prisma watercolor pencils, then I blended with gamsol. The dog is holding a heart and I decided to showcase the heart so I stamped the dog image on scrap paper, cut the heart out, then traced the heart onto the back of Paper Studio Raspberry Sparkly paper, cut it out by hand, and glued it to the main image. The card base is 5.25" x 5.25" so I cut a 1/2" wide frame by hand from Paper Studio sparkly paper that is 5" square. Then I cut a 4.25" frame that is 1/2" wide from Paper Studio Soft Pink Sparkly paper. Then I cut a 3.5" square of Raspberry Sparkly Paper and I timmed the dog image to layer perfectly over the raspberry square. Now it's assembly time: Place score tape along one long edge of the largest raspberry frame and adhere this to the far left side of your card. Apply score tape to one long side of the soft pink frame and adhere this to the right side of the gate fold. Center the dog image inside of the soft pink frame and adhere to the left side of the gate fold and voile! This card is quite easy to make and the effect is really impressive.
