 | | I needed a sympathy card for a friend who lost her mother on Sunday. It may not look like the color challenge, because of the dessert. When I watercolored it, the colors kinda ran and mixed. I started with 2 pages from my old encyclopedia. I stamped the cracked background from Mark's Finest Papers set called CRACKED HELLO with versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I did that for the MIX2 challenge which is to use embossed resist. I got the water colors as close as I could before I started painting. Before the paint dried I sprayed the page with a water bottle to let the colors run for MIX4. I used the sketch from the Sweet Stop - SSS199. I also did this for the TLC418- My circles were the paper doily and all the roses started out as scalloped circles that I quilled after watercoloring them with the paint. For the panel with the sentiment I took a plain piece of cream cardstock and used the paints. I let it dry and then sprinkled water drops. If you look closely you can see the little water drops. A really fun card to make, not so fun to have to make a sympathy card. When you read this please say a prayer for my friend Lucy. |
