This is for the Technique Lover's Challenge TLC417, to use washi tape. (I had to buy some, which was ok since I was at Michael's today anyway.) This is also for the Mix-Abillity Challenge Mix2, to use a resist.
I used Tim Holtz's new distress paint for the resist for the background alphabet. White distress paint right on the stamp, and then stamped onto a gessoed canvas. Used Walnut Distress Stain for the background. I used my two new washi tapes, as well as some lace washi tape from Stampin' Up!
I stamped "keep life simple" on a manila tag with Versamark, used white embossing powder, and then more Walnut Stain for the background of the phrase. Edged the edges with Walnut distress paint. Popped the phrase on with some dimensionals to give a little texture.
I like the irony of calling this card simple, with resistance. I am going to keep this little reminder right by my computer. I've been told I can complicate a glass of water... and I really need the peace of keeping things more simple.
I am sitting here seeing ways to improve the canvas already, but in the spirit of keeping things simple I am going to have peace with what is.
Blessings, Lela

Hi! I followed you over here from your link on One Little Word. I absolutely laughed when I read "I can complicate a glass of water." Then I cried. That is absolutely me! Thank you so much for this. I think I will make a little canvas too, it is good to have that reminder in front of you. My word is simplify or simple.
