I really wanted to use a red poppy for this week's MixAbility challenge and had pulled out a stamp, so when I found a lovely Poppy box on the IC site this morning, I knew my poppy stamp could do double duty.
A2 white Bazzill base, embossed with Chicken Wire.
Old book page with a couple of layers of gesso. I stamped the poppy image and masked it loosely before spritzing with a homemade mist (Fired Brick re-inker, Plum Perfect Pearls). Poppy coloured with distress inks (Peeled Paint, Gathered Twigs, Barn Door) and H2Os, with added Stickles. For my 3rd red medium I smeared the edges with red Liquid Pearls after tearing the image to size. The original book page text is a bit muted but the dymo label is a strong text element . From the IC, I added a touch of gold by adding a circle embossed with gold EP under a button tied with hemp.

I love this Sabrina!!! I think the new mixability challenge is so cool!! I love that gesso - I will have to get some. The tearing of your paper is really nice, and a creative label. :>)

We're all about the *two birds* process (as we call it at our house) ... why do just one thing, when you can accomplish two goals ... love the spritzy background ... another awesome inspired card.
Very pretty. I tried making a red mist yesterday but no matter what it looked pink. It was really pretty I just couldn't use it for the intended card. I like the look of the smeared pearls on here.

Beautiful red poppy, it makes me smile! I love how subtle the background text is and that label word is just right! I love it! Thanks for playing with the Mix-Ability challenge!
