This is for Mixabillity challenge #3 - to use text and reds. It is also for F4A156 to use my favorite colors. I don't so much love red, but I love love love oranges and pinks together -- so I took some liberties in the Mixability challenge.
Sorry the phrase is so small -- it says "You can't have everything. Where would you put it?" And that about summarizes my space for my arting supplies
I used my new gelli plate and threw down Basics Acryllic Primary Red. In another section I threw down red+white (yep, pink). I threw down some orange, and then some orange+red (yummm). Brayered around, and pulled a bunch of prints.
I took Julie Fei-Fan Balzer's class on working with the gelli plate, and it was very inspiring. I used a bunch of stencils, and just played and played. The paper I used was deli paper!! It makes a lovely transparent layer when working with mixed media.
I took 3 mini mini canvases which have been sitting in my cabinet forevah, and threw down some gesso. Added a little scrap to each from a torn book page. All of this is with Golden matte gel medium.
I adhered the deli paper. Then I adhered another layer of deli paper -- I was going to make a Christy Tomlinson "she art girl" but that didn't go so well, so I just went with it. I decided to make a triangle pattern instead to tie all the canvases together. I used an old word stamp with Archiver's ink, in keeping with the theme.
I used Dyan Reaveslys' quote which is SO appropriate for me right now because I seem to be buying every supply under the sun. I just rearranged my supplies, and there is just not a lot of room for growth. Which should be fine, since I already bought every art journal medium over the last six months or so.
I am going to put these canvases inside my stamp cabinet. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these colors, but they don't really match my house.
Thanks for looking, and I hope you have a great art journaling day!

Ah - somebody else mentioned a gelli plate and I didn't find time to follow it up. I must do that now - this looks wonderful. Love those warm oranges and reds.

Lela...love the warm colors...so pretty! Love the idea of the deli paper...thanks! Must investigate the gelli plate...you've really done a beautiful job with it!
This is so lovely. Ok I don't even know what a gelli plate is but I have seen them used in several cards lately. Love your colors and design. Very artistic.

This is so COOL Lela! I love the script bg on these and all the stenciled colors/shapes...and that quote is so true! I like that you're going to display them on your stamp cabinet. You really rocked this!
