Thanks for your interest. I made the first card with just the plain Cocoa background and it lacked depth. To get the background as it is now, I used a craft stampin spot in Blush Blossom to smear color on the CS. In some places I added clear embossing powder. I "thumped" the CS to remove some of the powder so that the embossed portions would be truly random. I didn't want to emboss the entire card becasue I wasnted texture, not allover shine. When I used the heat tool, the craft ink that was without powder just dried and gave the Blush Blossom color (the lighter spots in the jpeg). The areas with powder embossed (the shiney spots on the jpeg). This gave a nice and interesting texture.
