This is for yesterday's Free for All Challenge, to create a project using blue and brown, and for the Sketch Challenge this week.
I wish you could see this IRL. I have taken over a dozen pics, and none of them are really very good. If we have some sun tomorrow I'll try again! There is lots of sparkle and lots of gleam, none of which shows here!
The image and dp are part of a digi pack called DejaBrew that I downloaded from Aimee Asher. I printed the pre-colored image twice, cutting the first with a SB die and sponging VERY lightly with Walnut Stain DI before removing the die. The second image was fussy-cut, highlighted with Gelly Roll Clear Glaze and yellow Gelly Roll Stardust pens, and painted over with Psst Shimmer spray in Sparkle (this works great if you want to apply sparkle to a specific part of the card). It's mounted on top of the die-cut image with foam tape.
I randomly painted some of the swirls in the bg paper this way, and also painted some with Americana Triple Thick Glaze. It looks kinda funky in the picture (like glow-in-the-dark turquoise worms, LOL), but it's actually pretty cool. I used a MS edger punch on the left side and adhered it to the card base.
I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark and brown ink, then heat embossed with clear ep. I used the same strip embossing folder as the right edge; it looked awful so I tried again with a dots strip, using the debossed side. Sponged the edges with Walnut Stain and painted the whole thing with the Psst spray. It is adhered directly to the card base.
I die cut a brown fun foam piece from the same die as the focal, ran the focal through the xyron and adhered to the foam "dimensional". This is attached to the card with Scor-Tape.
I made this for my terrific friend, who loves coffee as much as I do. Hope she doesn't poke around in my gallery - her birthday isn't until May!
As always, thanks for looking!
