My inspiration is from the owl at the bottom of this page, it doesnÂ’t come to full view.
Since my granddaughters invitations are owls I thought the owl theme would be nice for the thank you notes too.
I didn’t have any owls in my collection that I could use so I did an internet search and found this one by Andrea Zuill , her policy for use is so tiny on the image sheets that I had to get a magnifying glass to read it so I’ll post it here if you want it: “This pattern is for personal use only. Commercial use is prohibited. This pattern may be enlarged or reduced in size using a copier to fit a specific project. In using this pattern you are agreeing to all of the legal restrictions regarding this pattern.”
I used a Spellbinder Nestabilities to cut the circle out of the blue panel to create a moon effect and then scored around the edge using the Scor-Pal and a metal ball stylus. The envelope and insert are also scored at the bottom with double lines.
The sentiment is computer generated and printed on an angle, positioned and attached to the card then the edges were trimmed.
The branch is a Sizzix die, I cut one from grey cardstock and one from decorative paper, trimmed each leaf and glued it to over the grey leaves.
The owl is colored with Copic markers then cut out. I loved the way she drew the feet because when cut out I positioned one talon behind the branch and two in front and it takes just a touch of glue to stick them on. The owl is popped up with foam tape and I also attached a thick piece of cardstock under the foam tape so the owl doesnÂ’t set below the blue panel. The branch is glued to the card with AleeneÂ’s tacky glue after the owl is attached.
Copics: eyes - YR09,Y38,35,32, feet - W3,5, breast E40,42, wing and upper breast - RV02,04,06, blues - B21,23,24
The flowers are cut with an EK Success punch and the center from the Cuttlebug Tiny Tag set. I shaped the petals using a metal ball styles and folded paper towel for cushion. Tacky glue was used to attach them to the branch.
Now I only have to make nine more, I can do that in a day.
Paper: Beckett Expressions for image, Die Cut with a View – sparkle yellow, Stampin Up – pink, all others are unknown
