 | | Tried to do a mixed media card; found out that embossing powder and oil pastels blended with baby oil don't mix too well, especially on watercolor paper!
The challenge was to use together a matte medium and a medium that shines. My matte medium was created using oil pastels blended with baby oil on watercolor paper. The butterfly was also punched from a piece that I used oil pastels on, then to make it shine I dabbed pearl white lumiere. THEN, I wanted to put something that shines on the oil pastel background...oh my, the embossing powder really got a hold of the texture in the watercolor paper and the oil wouldn't let go either! As I tried to wipe the EP away from the image, I noticed the matte background color was also going away. (the background looks pale in the picture, but IRL is a little more vibrant!) Love learning new things! |
