I love Wednesday's challenge here on SCS. You see I'm a color outside the lines kinda of gurl and this is a challenge that definitely keeps me on the straight line. Thank you Cathy for todays really fun sketch!!!
My eldest son had a big disappointed yesterday and I wanted to create a visual for him that perhaps words fail to convey...Dad and I just ache for him (you never grow out of parenting, do you???) Anyway, I am hoping that this will encourage him to remember that everything in life has a purpose...it's just learning to be patient and 'carry on' in spite of how your ReALlY feel.
No stamping on this one...all papers from an ancient Cosmo Cricket boy paper group. I cut and popped the polka dots onto the banner dots, hand cut the banners and the sentiment. Used Tim's tiny stapler for those staples I adore. As well as one of the mod TH embossing folder on the white space. a tiny bit of trim, some other ancient bubble letters to spell loved sons' name.
Thanks for much for taking the time to stop by today. Happy Wednesday all...just like last weeks' sketch challenge, time is slipping into the future, I gotta run...

You are such a great mom. I love your dots and denim and it's truly a card that shows the "upsidedownness" that Sam's day probably was and the sentiment is perfect.

Isn't it just like you to bring your artform into the act of comforting one?? I will pray for your sweet son, and although we don't see the purposes of our disappointments in life, we still hold on the truth that God has the bigger picture and sees much further down the road. Love seeing your work!! So glad you played along today.

Poor sweet Sam. Leave it to you to bring him comfort - you NEVER stop parenting. I love your ancient papers and how you cut out the dots. The expression you see in his name shows his hurt. Prayers for him, sweet friend. I love he ef!

What a wonderful card of encouragement this will be for your son, Susan! Love the message...how true! As we look back on our disappointments, it is amazing how often we discover a blessing in disguise! Love your take on the sketch!

Fabulous textured look, Susan. And I just love the way you popped up all those little polka dots, I spotted that straight away. I bet you don't ever grow out of being a mother - right up till she died, my mother always wanted me to ring or text to say we'd got home safely after we'd been down visiting them.
