I had an idea, found everything I wanted, and then the trouble began.

I couldn't get the cattails to punch out......I had to do a lot of snipping with my pointy scissors.

The bird punch was too big, so I had to get another one, and snip the birds off the wire.

The bg dp was perfect, but it didn't really go with the blue, so I had to add some bg color to change it.

The birds didn't look like birds, so I had to make teeny tiny wings, and add eyes. And of course, sponge those little suckers.

I put caribbean in the sky, and then had to add darker blue all around to get the darn color right......AGAIN.

I tied the bow upside down, and was lucky to get the twine to tie at all, after I found a big enough needle to poke it through the card (an afterthought). I also spilled the buttons.

Only took an hour and a half, and I'm NEVER doing this again. SO...you'd better like it!!!!!!!!!

ROTFL...I can picture what you went through, Anne as your description is perfect! Don't you find some days it is a total struggle to put what's in your head to paper? It's like there's some force at work, standing back laughing going...just you try...I'm going to put roadblocks up at every corner. Well, I do believe that all that work was worth it GF! The sponging, the texture, those adorable...perfect sized little birds...FABULOUS!

Oh that made me laugh. And I DO like it! Finding the right size needle was totally worth it.. I love the button and twine. The details are great on this card.
I will admit, it's difficult to type and laugh...snicker

Well it may have taken longer, which happens to me all the time, but your card was well worth your efforts. I use a special cusion for filling inthe negative spaces so the dies come out much better. Cherry Lynn Designs carries it.

yikes!! I do like this....sounds like a lot of perseverence to me!!! Have you tried a metal plate for these more intricate dies? And by the way, thanks for the AM chuckle!! I know it wasn't funny at the time-but it is hilarious now!!

Love the backstory and it makes me feel right at home (from the gal who spent the am threading tiny flowers into a lei)! Love the final product.

Well, Ann that is quite a story you tell about this delightful caard. You deserve a medal for sticking with it through all of that. And the finished card is Really Great! Thanks for your perseverance and story- we are all encouraged because we have all been there and its nice to know we weren't the only there. Nice Card!

For starters, it is beautiful!

Perseverance, look what it can get you. All that work and frustration produced a fantastic card.

It's amazing to me how what we think a card will look like doesn't always happen with the supplies we've set out.

Glad you stuck with it!

I love it! Ann, I'm sorry you had so much trouble making this card....some days are like that aren't they? This is a gorgeous scene you created, even though this is not how you wanted it to go. Love the cattails and the background paper! The button and twine are perfect for this!
