 | | A friend who sings in our church choir and her husband are going through some tough times right now caring for their severely disabled son who has now been given a diagnosis of terminal cancer. I made this card to hopefully lift their spirits.
I'm entering this in 3 challenges:
TLC413 - Focus on the Dies;
F4A153 - Warm Fuzzy Wuzzies - I chose warm colours to counteract the cold, a warm and fuzzy sentiment, and used fuzzy pompoms for the flower centers!
QFTD149 - Diane; also known as charminglycreative. Diane; your gallery was new to me; but I had a grand time browsing! Your lovely card Honeyblossom Sprig here http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...;ppuser=282361 really caught my attention and heavily influenced my use of the ovals, frame, and flowers. Thank you so much for the inspiration, Diane. Congratulations; and enjoy being our queen; you deserve it!
I used watercolour paper to form the flowers; sponging the edges of the petals with worn lipstick; then tattered rose beause it seemed too bright.; Sponged the stamens with wild honey; and lightly brushed the pompoms with it; too. I made a frame out of the ivory cardstock and backed it with the pink patterned paper which I also sponged lightly with tattered rose to tone it down. I also sponged the floral oval with tattered rose to tone down the bright pink. The ivory oval frame; leaves and flowers are popped up on foam tape.
Thanks for looking; and enjoy a great weekend! |
