Joanne's challenge to the CCEE Stampers this week was to get out our new toys and play with them - and to use as many as possible.
Yikes - this was not easy! DH had offered to add to my collection of Snoopy stamps, but actually I'd said no, so what I got stamping-wise for Christmas was 3 stamps from a friend "over here", and 3 stamps and an embossing folder from a friend "over there". And what I ordered in the sales hasn't arrived yet, that is VERY slow.
So I used the lovely Darice birch ef and a heron stamp to make a birthday card for my sister, since I needed to get that mailed off yesterday.
A2 grey base. Same grey card embossed with the ef sponged with Forest Moss. Gold highlights and edging added.
The "coin" is the postage franking stamp from French Foliage done with the faux metal technique.
Heron stamped on watercolour paper with Versafine Black and coloured with distress inks - Soot Black, Wild Honey, Forest Moss, Stormy Sky, Vintage Photo. Popped up on foam.
Since I'm sure most people already have more new stuff - if you want to play along, just use the keyword for uploads here, or link on the blog .

WOW, Sabrina...this is amazing. I love the theme, our coloring, your coin and your Darcie EF. I have that one too and haven't used it. I thought it was bamboo, but the more I look at your card, the more I do see birch trees. Awesome card, GF!!!

Glad the new stuff didn't arrive because you created one outstanding card without it. Love the background, and the heron is perfectly colored. Truly beautiful card.

Get outta here....I thought that was a real metal button until I read your description. You did such a magnificent job with it, Sabrina. I'm loving that birch embossing folder, too....such a perfect backdrop for your beautiful heron. What a beautiful nature card for your sister.
