I used to live in this town during my high school years. I love the photo in this layout and have wanted to scrap it for over a year--ever since a friend posted it on Facebook. The holiday season just provided the spark to finally get it done!

A clean and simple page for me, although it took quite some time to find just the right elements to suit me. I added the snowflakes to the background and clipped the same burgundy background paper to the mask near the journaling. I also created the gold frame by resizing a gold paper to a slightly larger size than the photo, then removing all but the small edge using the rectangle marquee tool.
Journaling: "I love the look of snow-covered trees, and thatÂ’s one of the reasons this photo of the Town Hall and surroundings in downtown Saranac Lake, N.Y. is one of my favorites. I didnÂ’t take this photo, but it certainly has a quaint small town feel to it. I could use it on a Christmas card! I spent my high school years in this town of about 6,000 residents, and we got more than our share of snow--the average being 133 inches per year--yes, thatÂ’s eleven feet of snow per year, folks! Often there was snow falling several days a week. The plows and sand trucks worked overtime, making the streets muddy and slushy, but driveable. Even so, on days like the one in this photo, it was a beautiful sight to behold ."
