Cindy's challenge to the CCEE Stampers this week was to use our favourite new die. I've combined it with the current ODBD sketch challenge. I've been telling myself for ages that I need to have some sympathy cards in stock, but the last few weeks have been too busy, and this week I needed a sympathy card in a hurry. It's the first time I've got dies that coordinate with stamps, and I can see this one being so versatile, because as well as loving the poppy image, I can layer other things up over the crocheted edge.
A2 base, green Bazzill.
Base layer is a cover-a-card stamp stamped with Versafine Olympia Green and sponged with Antique Linen, Tea Dye and a little Tumbled Glass. The round panel was sponged with Tumbled Glass, embossed with Textile ef and then sponged with Ripe Persimmon.
I stamped the image with black twice on watercolour paper. Lace edging sponged with Antique Linen. I coloured the central image with Ripe Persimmon and Mown Grass, sponged a bit with Antique Linen and Tumbled Glass and popped it up on the crochet.
MFT's Dizzy Borders cut from green Bazzill and laced through with some fibres that were the perfect colour. HA sentiment sponged with Antique Linen and Tea Dye, Liquid Pearls accents added.
If you would like to play along with the CCEE challenge, use Mr. Linky on the blog, or the keyword here on SCS.

Beautiful sympathy card, Sabrina!! I LOVE that gorgeous crochet die. It looks so delicate so I'm super impressed that you were able to weave your fibers through it.
