I thought the Dreamweaver's 'Season of Joy' without the text and star would make a great masculine birthday card with its winter scene. This was my first attempt to omit some of the stencil.
Before stenciling, I applied tape to cover the "season of joy" text and the star (Dreamweaver Stencil Season of Joy, #7016). I proceeded to stencil the remaining winter scene with white stencil paste followed by an application of glitter to the wet paste (did you know you could speed the drying time of the paste by setting the stenciled CS on an old electric warming tray?). For my alternative greeting, stamped 'Happy Birthday' on vellum in white craft ink, applied white embossing powder, hit it with the heat gun... then tore the vellum, leaving it wide enough to wrap the ends around the sides of the card.
I trimmed the stenciled CS down so I could add a couple layers of CS to frame it.
