This is my card for round 3 of the CAS Winter DT Search where Denise asked us to make a card featuring food or drink you'd serve at a Holiday Movie Party. In our house holiday movies are a big part of the season. When our kids were younger my oldest DD would make them movie tickets for the nights we were going to watch a movie together. A movie just wouldn't be a movie without popcorn so that's where my mind went.
I started with a strip of black cs that I punched with the index punch to simulate a piece of movie film (I'm old school enough to have been on the school AV team that helped show the movies on the big reels in our classrooms!). I used Gumball Green and Riding Hood Red for the movie tickets and punched them with the ticket punch after adding my sentiments. I cut a piece of dp for my popcorn box and used an oval punch to make the opening at the top. I sponged So Saffron onto copy paper and punched a bunch of Bitty Punch Pack shapes and adhered them. I had redesigned the placement of the elements on the card so I ended up cutting out the box so the top of the popcorn is more dimensional.

Gail, this is adorable and very creative! I love how you made your popcorn from the punches! The striped paper, the film strip and tickets...perfect for the theme!

This is so creative, Gail! I was going to go with popcorn, but couldn't find any popcorn images I liked and didn't even think about using the Bitty Punch to make popcorn! I love the film strip you used to ground your main image and the tickets are a great addition!

Gail, this is too too cute! I saw a project some years ago using a popcorn container and the popcorn inside like you did, but it wasn't on a card. Way to go!! My DH had an elderly neighbor woman growing up that liked milk with popcorn, so you're not alone!
