For today's Try a New Technique, Judy asked us to try glittery embossing. I sure wish there was a way to photograph this so you could see I used nine different colors of stickles.
Anyway, I embossed with the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday folder and had at it with the stickles! I couldn't really get complete coverage, so I added some chalk to help define the embossed areas. Next I added the buttons I didn't have a true red button, so I colored one with R35 refiller.
Then I started punching five point flowers out of scrap Dps. I cut them down to one or two petals per paper and started going in a circle. (I had a blank white die cut circle to start and used glue dots to adhere the petals). Then I added a larger scalloped circle to the back when I was done.
I like the flower and I know what you are going to say...but I don't think there is a 12 step program for punching...yet (wink) Thanks for taking a peek!

You got real creative today with the rainbow colors using them on the flowers' petals and the stickles and then the buttons! This is definitely a "HAPPY" Birthday Card! : ) Sure to make the recipient smile too, Kathleen~

Your rainbow flower is amazing, love it my dear...The whole card makes me smile, and smiling is a "great" thing
This is so bright and cheerful! I love the rainbow effect you achieved with the flower petals, buttons and embossing. I bet this bg is really pretty with all the colors but the photo doesn't show it off. Cameras just don't like bling! A very pretty card Kathleen.

WOW..I'm impressed with all the variety of stickles colors you used, all the buttons in a rainbow of colors that you have, and that your hand didn't fall off punching all those petals! If that isn't a cheery birthday card I don't know what is! Love that the buttons are of different sizes and shapes..really cute!

Ah, yes, Kathleen, I see that we both used the same ef. I used navy cs so my silver ep showed up. I was afraid to start messing with Stickles, but you did great with your many colors of Stickles, rainbow of buttons and that gorgeous flower. Thanks for describing how you made the flower. I want to try that.
Thanks for your comments in my gallery.
