I love this Cardinal image by Sweet n Sassy Stamps, and had fun combining it with some of my new toys.
After the image was stamped on whisper white, I sponged all around it with Bashful Blue and then the edges with Pacific Point. Next came the Prismacolor Pencils and gamsol. To add more dimension, I placed the image face down on a paper piercing pad and used a shaping tool on the back of the Cardinal and pine cone. The eye is dotted with Crystal Effects.
To create the oval frame, the opening was cut out of the center of a piece of PTI white cardstock and then embossed with the Holiday Frame folder. The oval mat was added and then the pine branch, which was cut into two pieces.
The pine branch was cut from Old Olive cardstock and colored with Old Olive ink (using a sponge dauber) and Distress Vintage Photo ink. I also did some shaping on the pine branch. Thanks to Kittie747 for this idea, shown here:
Linda, this is just beautiful! Your coloring is always top notch and I can just imagine how much the added dimension you gave the scene adds. I love the addition of the diecut pine branch and elegant embossed oval framing!

Sooooo beautiful. I love the little branch that sticks out and the gorgeous colored cardinal. I'm glad to see that you are still stamping. I have always loved your work.
