Your wish is my command O Queen! I noticed that Gabby was hoping someone would CASE one of her grunge cards and it reminded me that I hadn't uploaded the card I made late last night, early this morning when I was supposed to be cleaning off my stamping table and desk. I had seen this card of Gabby's CAS153 Encourage Hope Not Fear by gabalot at Splitcoaststampers and thought it might look cool on newsprint (yesterday's free for all challenge). I started with a torn dictionary page that I sponged along the edges with Suede. I don't have any grunge stamps per se, so I winged it a bit. I took a reverse punch of a puddle and sprayed some mist through it. Unfortunately, I was a bit heavy handed and the "mist" became a puddle which sort of spread beyond its designated borders. After drying this with my heat gun, I put the mask back over it and used the splatter to add some more ink to it. I inked up the mesh in gry and inked a small area of my Weathered bg stamp in Early Espresso. I inked just the large word on my stamp with a Versamark marker then embossed in Early Espresso. I thought it was a bit muddled and need something else (Gabby's original was so much cleaner without the newsprint behind it!) so I added some leaves I had made previously. I scored my base to cover up a "scored at the wrong place" boo-boo and ended up liking the look! I scored a piece of vanilla in the same way for the inside of the card. A button with a burlap string bow for the top and I stopped!

Woot-Woot! Your grunge collage is terrific! Nice combo of stamps and inking. Hey, a puddle is good ... nobody would have ever known it if you hadn't mentioned it! I learned from Tim Holtz "A little ink is good, a lot is great" or something like that. Oh, and next time you make a puddle on your card, remember as a kid, how much fun it was to jump in them. Puddles are good. And ... I think that overall, some of the best cards made, evolve from a puddle. Heehee! THANKS so much for bringing two cards to help me celebrate!
