Today we were to make a distress before we stress kind of card. I actually started this card yesterday for the WT challenge where we could not use red, yellow or orange.
After choosing my colors and design I put embossing paste on my eb shape and waited for it to dry. The jar said about 1 hour. NOT....took all night and half a day.
So while waiting, I browsed our new QFTD's gallery and chose this card to loosely case. I chose Audrey Ann's card for the mere fact that she dry embossed her lovely trees. I just added the eb paste.
To distress my yesterday card, after sponging color around the pitcher, I used a Tim Holtz distressing tool. I also did some faux stitching and crumpling on the edges.
Oh, before I put on the eb paste, I masked and colored the pitcher using my home made plaid maker. Added the faux button I found on my desk.
Well, that all said, Audrey enjoy your reign as our new Queen. Thanks ladies for the fun challenges. Hope everyone has a splendid weekend! TFL :0)

I was going to say you tackled a card I wouldn't, but then I thought - fruitcake, it's Mutnik here - she can do anything! And, so you did. Wow, I don't know how you create the unique things you do, but this is amazing. I LOVE the pitcher, button, distressing - love it all. What a tribute to Audrey - you know Audrey and I are twins, born 11 mos. apart - figure that one out!! LOL!!! Hugs and stay out of trouble! Say hi to you sis for me again!

What a neat card, Cathy. I'm unfamiliar with embossing paste...will have to research it. Love the effect you got with your plaid pitcher. A very creative and artisitic take on the challenges.

Hi Cathy - your card is so wonderful. I am not familiar with embossing paste but love the effect. That pitcher is AMAZING, as is this entire creation. Of course you must know by now I'm over-the-top in love with your artful style, because I drool over your cards and all over myself when I'm leaving you comments LOL, so to know you took some inspiration from one of my cards is truly an honor. Thank you :)!

Oh pooh, that is a long time to have to wait for something to dry. But, well worth it. This is a super card. I haven't used my Dreamweaver stencils and paste in a long, long time. You've made the coolest pitcher and I really like the splotched bg.
