for this HYCCT challenge Sabrina asked us to use elements spelling out soup in honor of the #1 sick treatment-chicken soup. and yes, I went way overboard again....for starters:
and how it reminds me of a camping trip with a prev bf. we were going to also hunt wild turkeys and him and brothers like to have one in stew right then and bring rest home for freezer....Ok, I said...and gathered up stuff for stew like carrots, tomatoes, celery and potatoes...well, little did I know that he expected me to pluck that durn bird!!...Uh oh!!....no way buddy!!...I don't fillet fish and I'm not plucking no durn yard bird!!!...we just about had a showdown right then and there cuz I told him he could either pluck it now or pluck the feathers outta his soup bowl....to save everyone, his brother ended up plucking the bird and cutting it up or it would prob still be running around today....lol!!
I copied a quilt pattern for the chicken in pot and downsized it and cut it out of different dp and pieced together...added lots of pop dots and MS branch punches....had a lot of fun with this...and hopefully someone there has hunters in the family and can appreciate this craziness....lol!!
TFl...

You made your own stock-pot! Unpeeled carrots is brilliant, and for sure I don't peel mine when I am just making stock. Your bird is fun too - and in black he'd remind me so much of Feathers McGraw from Wallace and Grommit!! The celery made me smile - it's almost impossible to get it with leafy tops here, and I love the leafy bit to chop and sprinkle over things at the end. And is that greenery parsley? It certainly looks like the best, most curly green parsley . Thank you for cooking up such fun and fabulous Chicken SOUP, Sheri.
We were just watching a documentary program filmed in Africa. Dinner one night was fresh goat, brought along live and killed on the spot. Some of the Europeans were a bit put off by it - your story reminded me of it!!
