When I saw Dina's card in the HYCCT gallery the other day HYCCT1225A - Postcard Bundle by dini at Splitcoaststampers I thought it would be fun to try a smaller version with ephemera in a collage fashion. Then I got the pm as a guest designer for the CAS challenge with the technique of collage as this week's challenge so I gave it a go. It kind of got away from me though and didn't end up as CAS as I'd planned ;). So, this is the ramped up version and I scaled it back for the card I actually used for my sample. Since I have the two versions of a similar card, I'm putting them in the fan club monthly challenge also.
I had a card base of Natural White with sponged edges and an image in the middle that I wasn't fond of. So, I cut a slightly smaller panel for my front. I tried a stencil for my postcard, but I didn't like the scale of the print so I found this one in a scrapbooking kit in my stash. I added the French writing and the postmark (using markers to ink of the postmark). I stamped my tag and used a craft knife on the detailed areas to cut it out. After stamping the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler, I then crumpled and sponged all the pieces. I added some Soft Suede spatter to the bg. My final addition (which really pushed the CAS envelope) was the tiny roses, but I thought they'd make a nice addition to my in love in Paris collage.

I LOVE this. I can't find the word I want to use but it has a really satisfying feel to it. Incredible collage work. So glad to have you be guest designer with us this week.
