 | | This is my submission for HYCCT1217, this challenge is to make a card with a decorative edge.
I've had this bird image on my work table for several days - highlighted with Gelly Roll Stardust pens and die cut, and had almost used it for several challenges. After I saw last week's sketch challenge (This morning - and by the way was there a Weekly Inkling last Wednesday? I didn't get it -) I knew I wanted to use it for that sketch.
The only hard part was the little tag and the bow - I don't do bows, but that's there for a reason. It's covering the spot where I originally had the sentiment. I changed my mind and tore the dp getting it off. The original sentiment (oval) was adhered to a larger green oval, but the shapes didn't match and I decided it was too small. I trimmed the green oval, attached it back to the piece it was originally cut from, sparkled it up and die cut it to match the bird. The decorative edge is repeated on the two other cardstock elements.
This card really has a subtle gleam and sparkle to it; I just couldn't get a decent picture that shows it - |
