Today, I have my Less is More entry. I think working with these wonderful crafters has helped me learn more about CAS because they have a very strict definition of what CAS is: “A design of card with clean lines, minimal elements, areas of white space and few or no embellishments.”
I have learned that white space is literally WHITE space, unless the actual card base is a different color. I have learned to limit my elements and practically eliminate my embellishments. I am still working on perfecting this so here is my new CAS card for the challenge this weekÂ…..to use silver.
I wanted some dimension in this card, so although the base is white, I used some white linen cardstock to stamp the sentiment from Inspired by Stamping. I embossed a scrap piece of the linen with bells and then painted them using silver alcohol ink on the bells exterior and a mixture of silver and gold to do the inside (to make it a little darker for depth). I added clear rhinestones for the clappers and then fussy cut them. I used stamps from two sets from Rubber Stamp Tapestry to make the ribbon and holly (Cardinal Resting in Holly and Holiday Bells). I attached the bells and holly with foam dots and used a silver glitter pen to create the frame. Once complete, I used foam tape to pop up the entire panel and attached to the base.
