What a difference color can make! I couldn't wait to get my hands on Memory Box's "Deer Trio" die because I had seen it used on a number of cards in this gallery. I did the "all white" Christmas cards first (uploaded earlier today) and then decided to try the more natural color to make some year-round male birthday cards.
I used a mottled brown cardstock in the hopes that it would look "furry." Obviously, a die is only going to cut the shape and not provide any features on the deer. That seemed fine on the all-white cards, but it looked too unnatural on the brown. My nature-loving husband loved the white cards, but hated the plain brown deer in the field. At first I sponged some brown on their bodies and added little white dots on the fawn. "Nature-lover" still was not happy and insisted that I give them faces!
I cut the trio apart so I could stagger them in the field. Three different pine trees were stamped and "stamped off" to try to give the forest some depth. The sky was created by tearing a mask and sponging.
This one has a horizontal orientation.
