Clean and Simple CAS191 challenge is to use plaid, so I took the plunge and made my first Christmas card for 2012. One down, many to go!!
I saw these trees on Pinterest - my other obsession - and decided to try and make one myself. First, I cut out a semi-circle of plaid dp and since it was not double sided, I glued a complimentary dp semi-cirle to the reverse. Inked all of the edges to give it a vintage look and then folded it into a tree. Added a scrap of brown for the trunk and a tiny brown star to the top. Popped it up on a kraft oval mounted in the same brown card stock, and then mounted the ovals on a kraft card base. Stamped my sentiment onto cardstock and punched it out with my SU tag punch and added some embroidery floss to finish things off.
I'll definitely be making more of these trees - maybe even with a lacy doily! Endless possibilities!
Anyway - thanks for taking a peek!
