Truth: this set cracks me up, every time I look at it. How cute is that mad scientist? And there's a lab rat, and all sorts of other fun additions and accessories included in the Great Chemistry set from Paper Smooches. I used the latest Sparks challenge as my jumping off point for this card.
I knew it was all perfect for today's HYCCT challenge, hosted my my amazing friend PH in VA The theme is You Had Me in Stitches and the whole idea is to make a humorous card with stitching (faux or real) on it! I'm honored to be a sample maker for her challenge!
I paper pieced my mad scientist with some Curiosity paper by Authentique. I really love that at first glance, it looks like the periodic table, but it isn't! The school theme works well with this stamp, I think. I colored his face and hair with my Spectrum Noir markers, and added some stickles to the potion in the beaker (bottle?)
I hand stitched the triangular panel to the larger patterned paper panel, using black thread. I love the way stitching looks on cards! And my new Memento Teal Zeal ink just kind of makes my heart happy You can pick up the stamps, paper, ink, and stickles over at i {heart} papers - gotta love one stop shopping!

Your mad chemist makes me smile all over my face. I totally love the background paper. It cracks me up because at first glance it looks like the periodic table of elements, but when you look closer you can see that it isn't! (And yes, in my house, I is definitely for ice cream!) Your stitching is so absolutely perfect, I would have sworn you did it with a machine until I read your details.
Thanks so much for agreeing to make a sample for my HYCCT challenge. You and your card are a ton of awesomeness. {HUGS}

Oh, I love this!! Yep, first glance I assumed it was the Periodic Table too - it's fab paper, I love all those blues with the yellow lab coat. I supposed it's not really a lab coat, it looks to smart for that.
I guess hand-stitching is the secret to neat corners with zigzag - but I'll stick with a machine and less neat corners than yours.

Well, you are so clever. I was thinking how perfect it was that your had periodic elements paper and you just made me think it was that! I love that scientist, too. Made me grin.
