A quick and easy card from me today for this week's Teapot Tuesday challenge. I had much more grandiose ideas this morning, when I read the challenge, involving lots of masking and sponging. But I started feeling unwell on the way to work, and then we had training in work which is tiring, and I have cooking to do and several special September birthdays calling for custom cards...so here's the easy version .
5 3/4" square base. I dry-embossed the Fleur de Lis square and then sponged the base with the die still in, so that a small white frame would be left around the diecut when I added it.
I cut the square from white card and again sponged while still in the die - Tumbled Glass and whatever green was on a sponge. Stamped the verse from ODBD in the top corner. Stamped the Penny Black butterfly to give me the body and antennae (Rusty Hinge). Added some fabric flowers with rhinestones for the centres, and Royal Leaves from MFT. Stamped the butterfly in white on a scrap of card, embossed with white EP and then sponged with Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade. I cut out the two wings and added them to the image panel, sticking them down where they join the body and popping the edges up on foam. Half an hour, I call that quick...now off to the kitchen.

Doesn't look "quick"....looks like a beautiful card for someone special. Love your color choices and beautiful sponging to accent the great orange flowers.

If this is quick, I can't imagine the involved version. This is beautiful - I love the colors together, and the dreamy way you created the butterfly. The flowers match perfectly, and I am certain Brenda will draw great comfort from the quote. Beautiful and kind card. Lela
