This is my entry for day 2 of the Verve Anniversary Challenge. You are to create an anniversary card using wood or silver elements. To my dismay, the only anniversary greeting I was able to find was in the Teeny Tiny Wishes set from SU.
My brother and his wife will be celebrating their 25th, and I wanted to make something special for them. The inspiration for my card comes from the home they have lived in for over 20 years. It is a large turn-of-the-century farm house and has lots of wood accents and pretty wallpapering. Whenever I visit them there are always at least a couple of cats curled up sleeping somewhere, and my SIL always seems to have a broom in her hand sweeping the porch.
I opted to make this card larger so there would be plenty of room inside for everyone in our family to write something, but I really didn't expect to have so many elements on this card. I started out with just a few paper-pieced elements, but I was having so much fun and seeing so much empty space at the bottom of the card that I just had to add a few more things...the cat, broom, and the dustpan.
I also found some really nice quotes online about marriage, companionship, etc. and plan to put a few of them on the inside.
Today is the day that Verve reveals all their new stamps and dies. I am starving for some new Verve and really hoping I win some goodies.
