This week our cards are going off to a little boy by the name of James. He's 3 yrs. young and is dealing with some pretty major medical issues.
Turns out that James loves pirates and dogs.
Well, every good (or bad) pirate needs a hat, so that's what I did this week. But, I also included the dog too! Since I live in the same city as Snoopy, what better dog to represent all dogs than Joe Cool and his sidekick Woodstock!
Now I know the hat has a skull and crossbones on it, but it just wouldn't be a pirate hat without them. So if I have to sneak in the back door, well that's all right with me, cuz I have Joe Cool and Woodstock at my side!
I sure hope this hat fits James. This is the third one I made, the first being too small and the second, well that's even a bit too big for the DH. I would have used the DGS for sizing, since he's 3 too, but he won't be over until tomorrow. But I do have enough material left over to make a hat for him. So Grandpa and DGS can wear them while playing with their trains.
So to James I say, arrrrr! Get well dear child!
I'm sorry for the bad color quality, Woodstock is yellow. It's a strange weather day here today. Smoke and clouds mixed together don't make for good photos!

Cool Joe Cool, I love the framing round him. I've just started reading a biography of Schultz that I got from the library, it's really interesting. The first time I saw it I already had my full quota of books, so I've been checking the biography section for it to be back in again ever since.
The hat is way cool - James will just love it.
p.s. - Woodstock makes a great parrot substitute .

Wow, James will be thrilled with his pirate hat! Adding Joe Cool is extra 'gold in the trunk'!
