What a fun site! Love all the vintage stuff! With so much to choose from, I had a lot of ideas, but I was really struck by this Drafting Stool. The colors and shape reminded me of watermelon, which I really love.
So the round stool became a (slightly chomped) piece of watermelon and the stick legs became my strips of embossed checkerboard. The images are from DRS Designs. The watermelon border was colored w/ markers and a water brush and the different colors of embossed strips were stacked on top and below it.
The watermelon was made w/ oval and scallop oval dies and the clear epoxy stickers were attached on top of two 1/2 inch circles I dotted and punched. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25. I'm also adding this to the FC Gallery: Summertime!
Thanks so much for looking! My blog:The Write Stuff. Sorry! I had to delete a bunch of really old posts from my blog & this is one of them.

A cute & clever card, Julie. I love your watermelon motif and how you carried it out, not only with your beautifully colored watermelons images, but the embossed bands to mimic the colors one gets when a cut is made through a melon. The brads are like the black shiny seeds.

Brilliant! Love where the inspiration piece took you with this card. All the the little watermelons are great along with the textured layers! So glad you joined the IC this weekend!
