 | | Today was our final day of VBS so I was busy all day with our closing picnic and ceremony in the evening. I HAD to play in the Free for All Challenge to use scraps as that is one of my favorite self-challenges...I didn't open a paper drawer at all! I found some tiny drawers at CVS and decided to put all my leftover alphabet diecuts into drawers by letter. I had a bunch from the Billboard strip from making my son's high school scrapbook recently. At the end of the strip is this circle shape with the closed circle and tiny dot. I took these and glued them onto the top 2/3 of a black piece of paper then embossed them in the Square Lattice ef. I had just found some craft duct tape (also at CVS in the $$ days section) and cut a narrower strip for my un-embossed section. I embossed the sentiment in white ep on white craft ink. I also had leftover paper towel pieces from a VBS craft where the kids scribbled onto coffee filters in blue and green then spritzed them with water as they laid on the paper towels. I couldn't bring myself to throw away those beautifully dyed paper towels! I used my circles die to cut out several different sized circles, cut the outermost one into 4 petals then scrunched the layers and added a black brad. All this was mounted onto a white base that had a HUGE smear of black ink on it that is covered by the black panel. YAY for scraps!!! A couple less pieces of paper waiting to be filed away! |
