The blog group I belong to has a monthly challenge and this month we were to make vacation cards using patterned paper along with an additional embellishment or two.
Well, hubby and I never go on vacation- we are such 'home bodies' so I made this card with the thoughts of a vacation I would love to take. Who knows, maybe when my kids get a little older we can go on a vacation.
I'm so out of my element with this card. I very rarely ever do any sort of distressing or water coloring and I've got them both on this card.
For more details about my card please see my blog post found here:

Patty - for being out of your element... you did a smashing great job! I don't usually care for the distressed look but this is just a wonderful card... love everything about it! TFS
I love this card, we dont vacation either...kids, job, home etc. take priority. I will have to drop the hint with a card like this! Thanks for the lovely idea!

Wonderful card!! Our vacations were always a trip at Christmas to see family, now that the children are growing up we're talking about vacations for two in upcoming years!
You didn't seem to be out of your element at all, the card is lovely!

What a nice card you created for your challenge. I think you did a wonderful job with techniques out of your element. The watercoloring is very soft to mimic the scene and the distressing is not overdone. Nice use of twine.
And I am with you; rarely leave town.
