My son's high school graduation ceremonies are tomorrow and this is the card I made for him. Part way through my hands shook, my eyes welled & the blubbering began....oh c'mon girl...snap out of it, it's only the card!!!
I kept it very simple, as that reflects his personality. I drew my inspiration from several posted spring fold cards using the graduation cap. I used Dawn Griffith's YouTube tutorial for the 5x5 version of the card. I added a layer of Pacific Point as it's fairly close to the school colour. I didn't have a tassle so improvised with cording after seeing other card artists use it or frayed ribbon. I added a little bit of scoring on the edge of the mortar board.
Finally, I dusted off the All Year Cheer set for the sentiment then added a little star embellishment on the other side.

I couldn't find it on Dawn's site even though I know I've used it from there on another occasion. I ended up searching her on YouTube and found this link:
If this link doesn't work, go to YouTube and search Spring Card #1 with Dawn & you should get a hit.

This is an awesome little grad card! I followed Dawn's wonderful tutorial and made one for my daughter who just received her Associate's. Fun card to make and so unique!
