Here is a card I made for today's Technique Lovers Challenge TLC376 ~ My Favorite - Paper Piecing ~ as well as today's CAS Challenge CAS169: It's time to be CHIC! Yesterday I was at TJ Maxx and bought some pretty pink DCWV Shimmer paper and wanted to use it with one of my favorite PSX stamps of a wedding gown, so when I read the CAS Challenge it was perfect! And then I read the Technique Lovers Challenge, which definitely made it a challenge! When I was married nearly 30 years ago, I wore an unconventional tea length gown with a blush pink slip and an ecru lace overlay, so I wanted to recreate my dress. I couldn't find any papers with a small enough pattern until I finally found my Pretty in Pink Print Patterns. I used a tiny print for the skirt and solid cardstock for the bodice. I painted the whole dress with Frosted White shimmer paint. I stamped again on white cardstock for the rose waistband, cut it out and layered over the pink. I colored the leaves with a Certainly Celery marker and added Dazzling Diamonds to the white roses. I then added a thin line of Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds down the back to give the effect of rhinestone buttons. I used a Nesties Label die to cut the frames in SU Shimmery White and DCWV Pink Shimmer paper. I made a swag with white Primas that I had sprayed with a mixture of the Frosted White shimmer paint and water. I used the Martha Stewart Branch punch for the leaves. Finally, I added pearls to the flower centers! And then I had to photograph it.....I tried with flash, without flash, inside, outside, different backgrounds, anything I could think of to get a good shot. Unfortunately, this is the best I could come up with.
