Made seven red ones for DD's Girl Scout Troop's Argentinian Tango Dance costumes for World Thinking Day, using acrylic craft felt squares for the craft store. I used the Spellbinders Spiral Flower #1 die. They were so easy and such a hit I made several for my DD.
The cream one is wool rayon felts (cuts much better!) using one die cut, the red uses two die cuts, and the purples are both three die cuts of different shade of purple.
Rolled then used hot glue to secure, colored a large rhinestone with a sSharpie to match and put in center, then put a little fabri-tac on a bobby pin and Voila!
The basic craft acrylic felt needed a copy paper shim to cut thru, and even then it was not clean - I had to snip quite a few fibers. I would highly recommend buying the wool/rayon or pure wool felt that is sold by the yard in the sewing dept if you hate snipping bits. But you can't beat craft felt for the color range, so if you want to do the variegated colors, you may need to snip.
