 | | This card is for the Ways to Use It Challenge to make a monochromatic card. I always need practice with that technique, so I gave it a try. The image is embossed with fine detail black embossing powder. The heart is colored with Pretty in Pink chalk and outlined with watercoloring. The flowers & the rest are watercolored with a variety of colors. This card is also for the Alphabet Challenge to use Letter Q. I stamped a “quilted” heart and used piercing for faux stitching on the inside of the heart to look like sewing on a “quilt”. I used royal jewel colors fit for a Queen: green as an emerald, red as a ruby, and pink as a pink sapphire. Also, I gave my design the royal treatment and added rhinestones and one petite pearl on the bow to further represent the Queen’s royal jewels. There’s glitter galore along the border of the heart and the ruffled edges, as sparkly as the Queen’s crown. Some of the design is cut for an Out of the Box look. Lastly, for Letter Q, the sentiment is a “quote”. In Joni Eareckson Tada’s words “Each one of us is God’s special work of art”. So true! TFL |
